PresetWing

Theatre props. Preset and reset checklists for one operator.

Coming soon to the App Store

Build the prop sheet once, in the order you actually work the wings. Every performance then gets its own fresh copy, with preset and reset checked separately and any problem written down where the next person will read it.

For the stage manager, ASM or props operator on a small, community or student production. One operator, one iPhone, no account.

The sheet you reuse

A fresh record for every performance

Starting a performance takes a copy of the show as it stands: areas, props, quantities and both notes. Editing the show sheet afterwards does not change a record you already made.

Finish the open performance before starting another. Close the app, lock the phone or have it killed in the background, and the open performance comes back where you left it.

Preset and reset stay separate

Every prop has two independent states, one for preset and one for reset. Working the reset does not tick anything on the preset. A prop is unchecked, checked, or needs attention, and each state is a word and a mark rather than only a colour.

An area on the sheet

Illustration drawn on this page using example props, not a screenshot of the app. Two props checked on preset, one flagged for attention, reset not started.

Counts like these sit beside every area and every phase. An optional filter narrows the list to what is left and keeps anything flagged for attention in view.

PresetWing records the checks you enter; it does not verify physical props.

Write the problem down

Flag a prop and write what happened. The note belongs to that phase of that performance, so a preset problem and a reset problem stay apart. Correct a status or clear a flag at any point. Finishing with items unchecked or flagged tells you what is outstanding first, then keeps the record with the counts it really had.
